A senior manager at Gripple, the Sheffield-based, multi award-winning wire fastener manufacturer, has been recognised in this year’s 100 most inspiring and influential UK individuals in The Manufacturer Top 100 annual scheme.

The coveted accolade for Gordon Macrae comes ‘hard on the heels’ of the international company’s managing director, Ed Stubbs being chosen for individual interview on the national BBC News to outline why the company has continued to prosper since the EU referendum.

Gordon, Gripple’s special project manager, was selected within the Top 100 scheme’s Exemplar category. He runs Incub, the company’s incubator for new ideas, as innovation is at the core of employee-owned Gripple and one of the key drivers in its gl obal success. Gordon focuses on delivering innovation across the Gripple family of businesses and to local businesses, schools and universities.

The scheme aims to dispel myths surrounding manufacturing and create a platform to champion and publicly identify dynamic leaders and innovators in the sector.

Nick Hussey, CEO of the Hennik Group, publishers of The Manufacturer said: “It’s an ardent passion of mine to help find appropriate ways to promote the expertise and brilliance of UK manufacturing.

“Projects like TM Top 100 are imperative to highlight the truly inspirational achievements happening in manufacturing and to showcase the passionate and talented people making them happen. The individuals listed have been selected for their outstanding contribution to the sector and it is crucial that these role models are promoted to every possible audience, across politics, education and the wider population.”
